AIRPORT TRANSFERS
TABLE OF CONTENTS
AIRPORT TRANSFERS
The airport transfer service for our camps in Switzerland offers a convenient and safe way to travel directly from the airport to the camp and back again.

Please note that airport transfers are shared with other friLingue participants whenever possible. Our staff coordinates arrivals and departures to ensure a smooth and safe journey for all students.

How the transfer works:
  • The airport transfer can already be booked during the registration process.
  • Please send us the flight details (airline, flight number, and arrival time) as early as possible.
  • Upon arrival, participants will be welcomed by friLingue staff members or official representatives holding a sign or wearing friLingue clothing.
  • Participants will be safely accompanied to their designated means of transportation and brought directly to the camp. Depending on the transfer schedule and logistics, transportation may be arranged by car, train, or van.
  • At the end of the stay, we also organise the return transfer back to the airport.

Important information:
  • Please book arrivals and departures on a Sunday whenever possible.
  • Flights are not included in the camp price.

Important Visa and Entry Requirements
Participants and their families are responsible for ensuring that they hold a valid passport and, where required, a valid visa for entry into Switzerland. Please check the applicable entry requirements well in advance of your departure.

Please also note that from the last quarter of 2026, travellers from visa-exempt countries will generally require an ETIAS (European Travel Information and Authorisation System) authorisation to enter most European countries. ETIAS is not a visa but a travel authorisation linked to the traveller’s passport and must be obtained online before travel.
As entry requirements may change, we recommend checking the latest official information before making travel arrangements.
UM (UNACCOMPANIED MINOR) SERVICE
What is an Unaccompanied Minor?
An Unaccompanied Minor (UM) is a child or teenager travelling without an accompanying adult. Age regulations and conditions vary depending on the airline.

Airline staff accompany the child during check-in, through security and passport control, and until boarding. They also ensure that the child is handed over to the authorised representative at the destination airport.

Please note that airlines charge additional fees for this service.

Important information
At the destination, the child will only be handed over to the officially registered representative of the school or camp. For our camps in Switzerland, we offer a UM service for CHF 100 per way.

Regulations of different airlines (subject to change)
  • SWISS: UM service mandatory for children aged 5–11, optional for teenagers aged 12–17
  • easyJet: No UM service available, solo travel only possible from age 16
  • British Airways: No UM service available, solo travel only possible from age 14
